-------------------
There are two subjects that are difficult to comprehend:the mind that is inherently pure and the fact that this[same] mind has been contaminated by defilements. These two subjects can be heard and accepted by youand the Bodhisattvas-Māhasattvas who have achievedthe great Dharma, whereas others, namely the hearers, can only believe in Buddhas words.
The Lions Roar of Queen Srimala, the Single-VehicleGreat Expedience, the Corrective and Extensive Sutra[Srimaladevi Simhanada Sutra]
Translation of the scriptural passage was adapted from Diana Paul’s rendition. [Paul, D. (2004). The Sutra of Queen Srīmālā of theLions Roar. Berkeley, CA: Numata Center for BuddhistTranslation and Research.]

-------------------
once you have found your own “mind that is inherentlypure,” you will realize that we are all encompassed withinit. Our five aggregates are within this mind and have neverbeen apart from it. They have never operated outside it;they have always been within it. This inherently pure mindremains pure and uncontaminated while operating to assistus, whereas we, the product of this pure mind, are defiledand contaminated.
